Would you like the skills and confidence to start conversations and offer support for those who may be experiencing poor mental health? Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) courses teach individuals how to provide support to friends, family members, co-workers or other adults in your community who may be experiencing a mental health crisis or problem. With improved knowledge of mental illnesses, treatment options and appropriate first aid strategies – we are more equipped to confidently support individuals with mental illness. Training is also associated with decreased stigma and more help provided to those that need it. Evidence also tells us that a person is more likely to seek help if it’s suggested by someone that they know and trust. By learning these skills, you can help make a difference to people you care about most. This Blended Online Community MHFA Course is an alternate delivery pathway to our Standard MHFA (12 hour face-to-face) course. The total course cost is $220 and will be delivered as follows: 1. Self-paced eLearning to be completed prior to the Zoom sessions (approx. 5-7 hours to complete) 2. Two x 2.5 hour small group Zoom sessions led by Accredited MHFA Principal Master Instructor Linda Rowley. PLEASE NOTE: The online Zoom sessions will be held on Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th January from 1:30 pm to 4.00pm. At the end of the course, you will be eligible to complete the MHFA Accreditation Exam to be accredited as a Mental Health First Aider.
